My top 10 shoes.

#10

These black velvet knee high boots from Target.

I looked for a long time to try to find these on the Target site so I could link you but you know how quickly Target switches up their styles. I bought these boots about 3 or 4 years ago. They are easily my go-to boots because they are flats and very simple.

No frills, no thrills, just black velvet knee high boots are a staple, especially in colder weather areas.

These are pretty similar but have a bit more of a heel.

#9 My Kelly & Katie Nude Oxford Heels

I adore oxford styled shoes. Maybe because I dress like a teacher so often.

These shoes also happen to have a romantic story behind them.

Josh and I were just dating at the time and we went into a DSW to look for shoes, I think, for the military event he was working on. I saw these shoes in the store and fell in love with them. I quickly pointed them out to Josh. We ended up buying some socks and leaving. But as we got to the car, Josh ran back inside for a second and came back out with these shoes in my size. Even though they aren’t the shoes I was going to wear to the event, he knew I loved them and bought them for me in secret. That’s just Josh, though.

Nude heels are an essential in a feminine wardrobe, I’ve just dressed mine up in Oxford style.

You can find a size 8 of these on PoshMark here.

#8 Van’s Sk8-Hi Shoe in Mustard Gold

I saw these in an ad and they called to me, deeply. I love Vans, I always have. The more you wear them, the more comfortable they become. They are super durable and just very cool.

I am a lover of vintage and midcentury modern style and this shoe color just screams “RETRO” to me. I dig it.

These were also a gift from my husband. The man knows the way to my heart, through shoes.

#7 Triple black Nike Jordans

I believe everyone should have a pair of all blacked out sneakers. I believe this so much that I have two. I have a pair of blacked out Vans you can find here.

Js are such a statement shoe, too, because they are so unique. Triple blacks remind me of when I was BoH (Back of House). A surprising amount of Jordans in BoH.

These were a Christmas present from my husband. Another score in gift giving!

All black sneakers, a staple in femme and masc closets alike!

You can find these Triple Blacks here.

#6 These Busted Ass Vans

“VANS Navy Blue White Striped Women’s Boat Shoes Deck Sailing” if you want to give these a quick Google and see where you can find them and in what size.

Look, these would be my #1 shoe, if I didn’t wear them so much and get them so dirty but they are always 100% busted. They are easily one of the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever owned. In fact, I love them so much that this is my second pair. I have an older pair of these exact same shoes that are 100x more busted than these, which I bought off Ebay. I skate in these shoes, work in these shoes, go for walks in these shoes, they are just amazing and comfortable.

#5 Miz Mooz New York City Red HEels

I’ll admit. These heels are a tad snug on me. Let’s just say, I couldn’t wear them with socks. They are marked as a 10 but they are a super snug ass 10. I wear them around the house sometimes because I know leather can ‘loosen’ a bit. But they are leather and beautiful.

Miz Mooz is a pretty nice brand. I imagine these shoes probably retail for $100+ and I picked them up from the thrift store for $6.99.

I believe that a simple pair of red heels are a staple in a feminine wardrobe.

You can find Miz Mooz shoes and more here.

#4 My velvet black wedges from *******

I recently bought these from ******* for about $20. Remember when you could go into Rue 21 and buy a cute pair of shoes for $19.99? These are basic black wedges with a bit of flair to them given the elastic bands.

All black wedges should definitely be a staple in a feminine wardrobe. They pair well with a LBD, business pants, a mini skirt, denim jeans, and more. I love them.

#3 Hot Pink Old Navy Pointed Toe Flats

My bestie took me out on a shopping spree one day and we ended up at Old Navy. I saw these flats and knew I had to have them. I am obsessed with this color pink. You can find this shoe on PoshMark in various sizes.

I wouldn’t call these a staple piece but I would call them an easy color pop, especially as someone who wears a lot of black.

#2 These Handmade shoes

Obviously these are worn shoes but there is a reason they are so worn and #2 on my list.

These are not the exact shoes but they are fairly similar.

I bought these shoes at a thrift store right outside of Washington D.C. I believe I paid about $11 for them and, at the time, I could see the maker information on the heel of the foot. These were marked as handmade and in a different country. When I Googled them, they retails for $225+. I’d say I got a pretty good deal.

Now, a pair of Hunters Green Slip-ons isn’t really a staple in any wardrobe but I wear these so often as a color pop. I wear them often because they are impossibly comfortable. Since they are made of leather, they have loosened a great amount since I got them next to new. They have also developed in color a bit.

#1 These Leopard Print flats.

A closet staple, a color pop, a print pop, you get everything with these cute little leopard print slip ons. I just love them. They are super comfortable because they’re so thin. I’ve been wearing these shoes for years so they have really formed to my feet.

I don’t remember where I got these shoes but my guess is probably the thrift store given how much I shop at thrift stores.
